Cultivate the ability to be
empowered women and courageous men
Martial arts can translate into our daily lives and enhance the way we live and interact with others
We cultivate the ability to be empowered women and courageous men by a martial art called Katori Shinto Ryu. Katori Shinto Ryu is an ancient martial art that uses time tested techniques that are over 600 years old to improve the spirit, mind, and body. Real strength is not just about power, but also requires love. If you would like to explore this and experience real inner strength, please come and join us.

What is Katori Shinto Ryu?
Katori Shinto Ryu was found by Iizasa Choisai Ienao during the mid Muromachi era (1336-1573) in the Katori region of Shimousa province (present-day Katori city, Chiba prefecture). It is the oldest samurai form still practiced today and the source from which many Japanese martial arts have evolved. It maintains a extensive syllabus of martial training, strategic study, philosophy, and character development. Also, Katori Shinto Ryu was awarded the status of "Intangible Cultural Asset" in Japan and our headquarters is in Chiba prefecture. Since 1965 we have been able to share it outside of Japan and we now have schools located in 28 different countries.
